Bahrain Sends 2nd Aid Consignment to Somalia

The Kingdom of Bahrain has today dispatched the second relief-aid consignment to famine-stricken Somalis.
The humanitarian initiative follows directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. Royal Charity organization board of trustees’ chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa is in charge of ensuring the follow-up.
An RCO delegation led by assistant secretary-general Saeed Hussain Abdulrahman headed to Somalia to deliver the humanitarian shipment, which includes 40 tons of medications and other relief products..
The delegation also includes public relations and media director Adel Jumaa Al-Mahameed and A’al Al-Jar from the Bahrain Red Crescent.
RCO secretary-general Dr. Mustapha Al-Sayyed expressed thanks and appreciation to RCO honorary chairman HM King Hamad for his humanitarian initiatives and keenness to extend a lifeline to needy people and tragedy-stricken people.
He paid tribute to Shaikh Nasser for ensuring the follow-up. He also hailed the efforts of the Information Affairs Authority, the Foreign Ministry, the Health Ministry and charity and Islamic societies to back HM King Hamad’s donation-collecting campaign. AHN
